I’m a communications professional currently looking after the external communications team for a nationwide healthcare company, responsible for everything from media relations to citizen engagement and managing a 7-strong team across England.
I have been working since I was 11 when I decided I wanted to be a journalist. After beating the local press at its own game and winning an award for improving communication in my hometown of Rubery, Worcestershire I took a detour.
I hung up my notepad and pen to pay the bills while I was at college, taking on running a coffee shop for a national chain, teaching kids about web design and generally fixing the problems I found along the way.
Since 2011 I’ve been focused on helping businesses – in healthcare, transport and technology – tell their stories best and defend their reputations. I love a problem and I’m never afraid to get stuck in.
I’m a CIPR member and accredited PR practitioner, committed to continuous professional development. I completed my CIPR Public Relations Diploma in July 2017.
Nic has a real knack for spotting opportunities and challenges that other people rarely would, and takes action to maximise the potential of those opportunities and minimise the risk associated with challenges quickly.
