Hi, I'm Nic

I’m a senior marketing and communications leader with two decades of experience in complex, regulated environments — mostly healthcare and public services. I’ve led teams through transformation, integration, crisis and business-as-usual, often all at once.

I think strategically and I’m hands-on by default. I build from scratch when there’s nothing, rebuild what isn’t working, and make sure things actually land — not just in the boardroom, but on the ground. Most organisations don’t lack strategy. They lack someone who can close the gap between what leadership intends and what people actually experience.

I learned early — from someone who shaped how I think about leadership — that ideas mean nothing without action. That’s still how I work.

If you’re looking for someone who gets it and gets it done, let’s talk.

Insights and tips on getting it, and getting it done

“A humorous, illustrated caricature of a man looking worried and thoughtful, with wide eyes and a hand on his chin, sitting at a desk in front of a laptop showing a ChatGPT logo. He is surrounded by exaggerated office posters and documents labelled with phrases like ‘Confidential Marketing Plan,’ ‘Questionable Data Analysis,’ ‘ChatGPT Scripts,’ and ‘Compliance?’. A thought bubble above his head reads ‘Uh-oh… Is this… too much?’, conveying anxiety about whether AI-assisted work use is becoming too obvious or inappropriate.”

What your caricature from ChatGPT is telling the world

You've seen the trend, no doubt. You've probably seen people railing against it too — AI is, for whatever reason you wish to pick from ecological to anti-capitalist, as abhorrent as any previous innovation has ever been. But has anyone considered what it's really telling us?

Leadership

Can I still work from home?

It seems that this is a question capable of making strong, experienced leaders, used to using data to come up with answers and focusing efforts on outcomes, drop all of that experience and knowledge for petty arguments and gut-feel vibe takes.
